About me...

I am a DONA certified birth doula and trained postpartum doula.

I am an active member of DONA, Ottawa Valley Doulas, and the Association of Ontario Doulas.  As a member of these professional organizations, I adhere to specific Codes of Conduct and Ethical Responsibilities.  I hold a Bachelor of Arts (English/Psychology).  I have Infection Protocol and Control (IPAC) training.   My police records check for working with the vulnerable sector is up to date.

My preferred pronouns are she/her.

The births of my two children inspired me to learn more about birth support.  When I found out about doulas, I realized how much both my partner and I would have benefited from hiring one.  If only I had known then what I know now!   I also realized that I was a postpartum doula long before I knew what a doula was.

After working as a birth doula for several years, many of my clients were asking for my support to continue after the birth.  I chose to pursue postpartum doula training in order to offer much needed support to families while they are transitioning to life as parents.

I am passionate about both birth and postpartum care.  Being invited to attend birth and being welcomed into someone's home when they bring home their baby is tremendous honor to me.

When I am not working, you may find me playing with my children, digging in my vegetable garden, neglecting my lawn, reading a good book on that lawn full of weeds (the bees love them), chasing after my dog, trying new wines with friends, volunteering at my children's school or visiting my enormous extended family.

My dream is for everyone to have a positive story to tell about their birth and parenting their baby.

I want to schedule a consultation!
