Postpartum Doula Services

As a postpartum doula, my role is to care for parent(s) to ease their transition to life with a new baby and help them gain confidence in their parenting skills.   All the "little things" that are sometimes overwhelming can be taken care of while parents bond with their baby and/or rest.

Families benefit from the compassionate, non-judgmental support and evidence based information they receive.

Some of the things I can help with, as your postpartum doula:

  • Normalizing of newborn behavior.
  • Diapering, soothing and bathing techniques.
  • Breast, bottle or combination feeding support.
  • Supporting birthing person's need for rest, nourishment and recovery
  • Newborn care while the parent(s) sleep.
  • Emotional support.
  • Knowledge of normal postpartum recovery (from vaginal or cesarean birth).
  • Light housekeeping
  • Meal preparation.
  • Supporting the sibling(s) while they adjust to the change.
  • Referrals to community resources.
  • Attending appointments / running errands with parents as a helper

What are the next steps?

1. Contact me to book a consultation.
2. When we book a time to connect I will send you my contract(s) to review.  This will answer most general questions so that we can focus on your more specific needs and questions when we connect.
3. Spend up to 40 minutes (by phone or video) during our consultation getting to know each other so you can decide if I am the right doula for your family.
4.  Let me know if you want to hire me and send the contract with your signature.
5.  I will send an invoice for the retainer and a short intake form to fill out.
6.  As soon as I have received the contract, retainer, and intake form you are officially my client!  You will be able to call, text or email questions throughout your pregnancy and/or while you are receiving postpartum services.  I love hearing from my birth and postpartum clients.  Please ask me before you consult "Dr. Google!"
8.  If I am your birth doula, we will schedule your two prenatal meetings to occur before you reach 36 weeks.  If I am your postpartum doula, you may benefit from booking a time for me to come to your home prenatally to show me where things are, get help with setting things up, and/or have me meet your older children so they become comfortable with me.
